Telephone Interpreting
Dublin, Ireland

May 17, 2008
Many public services in Ireland are using telephone interpreting more and more. Examples include the Gardaí (who have just commenced a tender process for a telephone interpreting provider), hospitals, International Organisation for Migration, Refugee Legal Services and the Department of Social and Family Affairs. Telephone interpreting can seem an attractive option because it is fast and anonymous. However, there are issues around confidentiality, some calls are very long, and it may be difficult for the interpreter to maintain concentration and quality. Nataly Kelly will conduct two seminars on telephone interpreting, sponsored by the Irish Translators and Interpreters Association. The first will be for interpreters, the second for buyers and suppliers of telephone interpreting.

"Being Smart About Global vs. Local During
Clinical Trials"
at DocTrain Life Sciences
Indianapolis, IN

June 25, 2008

As drug development expands globally, pharmaceutical project managers need to master management techniques, tools, and measures that transcend language, cultural, and geopolitical barriers. Pharmaceutical and other life sciences companies selling their products internationally typically adapt the offer, the product itself, the language, the website, the marketing collateral, its way of selling, how it delivers the product, and who supports it to the needs of doctors and other consumers in their target markets. This presentation will outline the need, best practices, and enabling technologies for managing this critical function.
